Grandfather Frost and I share a moment after I quietly whispered into his ear what I want for Christmas. I found out that as folklore has it Grandfather Frost and his Granddaughter Snegurochka, who is a snow maiden accompanies him on his journey delivering Christmas presents. As I see it, it’s a better deal waiting up to see Snegurochka than trying to see Santa Claus or Mrs Claus but that’s just me.
Anyhow we were returning from another day of travel to Klechiv from more paper work, 2 hour train ride both directions and visits to government offices with nothing to show for our time and effort. We seem to be on this pattern of hurry up and wait, people want to see us for signing papers, checking of our visa’s, checking our lives but know one is in any hurry to give us an answer of my impending temporary residence or not. We’re getting nervous because it is the 10th and I have to be on a return flight November 22nd which by my math only leaves us 11 days to hear or America here I come.
As we wondered around Klichev I recognized an animal model that reminded me of a time period in my life where I cleared off a bucket list item, some of you might recall my being late for a class reunion dinner because I was helping out a friend of mine with artificially inseminating a cow. For those of you who might not have a good visualization of the process I reinnacted the process and photographed an example. First was my introdcution, you know you don’t want to just offend a lady with cold hands without a proper introduction.
Hello my friend Elsa how are you………..moo!!!! moo!!!! moo!!!! which means very fine thank you. As I worked my way around the cow I kept sweatly talking to her to not make her nervous as to what I was about to do.
Without so much as a kiss or a dinner we became very close friends ah! a bucket list item taken off.
Thank you again for taking the time out of your life to read, make comments or just glance at my site.
