Before My Feet Hit the Floor

DSC_0305

I recite three daily I’ll call prayers before my feet hit the floor to set my day off in the right direction.  They are as follows:

(1) This is the beginning of a new day, I’ve been given this day to use as I will. I will use it well because I am exchanging a day out of my life for it, when tomorrow comes this day will be gone forever leaving in it’s place something that I have traded for it, I want it to good not evil, success, not failure, gain and not loss in order that I will rejoice in the price that I paid for this day.

(2) I saw a group of men tearing a building down, a group of men in my hometown, with a heave and a ho and a mighty yell they swung a beam and the sidewall fell, I ask the foreman are these men skilled to take to Herod if they wanted to build….he laughed and said why no indeed common labor’s all I need cause we can tear down in a day or two what it took a builder ten years to do…so I thought to myself as I walked away which one of these rolls do I want to play.

(3) God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can not change….the courage to change the things I can….and the wisdom to know the difference. Keep coming back it works if you work it.
